Jon Spencer Blues Explosion – Talk About The Blues

Em um remoto Natal onde a grana era curta e o CD era caro, onde o MP3 era algo inviável para a minha conexão de internet e eu apenas poderia ouvir a música através de caixas de som ridiculamente ruins com o nome Sound Blaster estampado… tinha sound, mas estava longe de ser blaster. Com sorte eu consegui assistir o clipe na MTV em algum programa mais alternativo e mais noturno… daqueles que só eu e mais umas trinta ou quarenta adolescentes podiam realmente assistir.

Tirado do álbum de 1994 a música Talk About The Blues foi a primeira música que ouvi de Jon Spencer Blues Explosion e realmente espalhou meus miolos por aí, apesar do grunge fervendo em minhas veias foi a primeira vez que pude ter contato com algo experimental que chegou a um veículo de comunicação em massa… Pode parecer besteira agora, mas para um garoto anti social ter noção de que coisas não necessariamente comerciais poderiam vender mudou minha cabeça, mesmo com Beck estourado e com Velvet Underground por todo lado. Talvez por ter sido um presente de natal essa porcaria tenha marcado… sem falar que o clipe é sensacional com as figuras de Wynona Ryder, Giovanni Ribisi e John C. Reilly, hoje atores até bem reconhecidos.
